Established on September 22, 2020, Hope Foundation emerged from the vision of a passionate collective of humanitarian workers—both nationals and refugees—united by a common goal: to uplift and empower refugee and host communities across Uganda.

Proudly women-led and rooted in lived experience, Hope Foundation champions transformative change through strategic focus areas:

  • Girls’ Education & Young Mothers’ Empowerment: Bridging gender gaps by promoting inclusive access to quality education.
  • Functional Adult Literacy: Enabling adults in local communities to thrive through foundational learning and life skills.
  • Peaceful Co-existence: Strengthening social cohesion and mutual understanding between refugees and host populations.

In 2022, our commitment to innovation and impact was globally recognized when Hope Foundation was named a UNHCR Innovation Grant Winner, celebrating our groundbreaking protection initiatives for refugee women and girls.

We remain steadfast in our mission to drive lasting change—one program, one partnership, and one empowered life at a time.
